Joita Sen is Director at Senco Gold Limited, a Kolkata headquartered pan-India jewellery retail player with legacy of over five decades. Joita who brings with her an experience of more than a decade in jewellery designing and marketing, completed her bachelor's in English Honours from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, and then went on to do her Masters in English from Presidency College, University of Calcutta.
Having joined the company in 2009, she has been instrumental in conceptualising and launching brands like Gossip, which caters to the silver and costume jewellery needs of young customers and D'Signia showrooms, which serves customers seeking a more premium jewellery retail shopping experience.
Joita leads from the front when it comes to keeping a pulse on changing customer demographics and design preferences and developing innovative, trend-setting and stylish jewellery designs together with a sharp focus on quality and craftsmanship. All of this has given Senco Gold & Diamonds a strong brand recognition and customer loyalty today.
Joita, a member of the Entrepreneurial Development committee at The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) has spearheaded initiatives at Senco Gold & Diamonds that support women empowerment, gender diversity and LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace.
Under her guidance, the company has received numerous awards like Fabulous Jewelers award by ET Edge (2021); "Symbol of Excellence" at the ET Iconic Brands of India awards (2017), Best CSR campaign for Wear Your Pride by CMO Asia (2022); Social Media Campaign of the Year award for Bangle Utsav in Retail Jeweller India Awards (2019) to name a few, and she herself has been conferred with multiple awards in an individual capacity such as Young Leader Award by Retail Jeweller India (2023), Most Influential Marketing Leader by World Marketing Congress (2022), Achiever in Femina's Fabulous 40 Inspiring Women (2022), Award for Excellence in Branding and Marketing by CMO Asia (2022) and Shakti Award for Leadership in Jewellery Industry by Informa Market and SVAR (2022).
Ms Sen was recently felicitated with XIA Global Award 2023 - "Excellence in Women Leadership & Entrepreneurship" by her Alma Mater St. Xavier's College, at an event in Bengaluru on January 29, 2023. The event was organized by St. Xavier's College (Calcutta) Alumni Association (SXCCAA) with its South Zone Chapter. The award was presented to her to acknowledge and honour her consequential contribution in the sector of Sustainable Infrastructure Development and Management.
This year in April, Ms Sen was awarded ET Inspiring Women leader-2023 award at ET women's Conclave for her commendable achievements as a leader of her team, spearheading them to achieve some of the successful campaigns like "Wear you Pride - 2022" portraying the unity in inclusivity and Bangle Utsav 2022, unfolding the art of creation, and depicting karigars' artistry in every bangles.
