Nilani is a professional banker with over 3 decades' experience in the industry holding
senior positions with a wealth of experience in multiple functions covering Operations,
Branch Banking, Cash Management, Customer Onboarding and Due Diligence, Governance,
Risk and Controls among many spheres, managing large diverse teams.
Currently she is the Head of Operations Sri Lanka & Maldives at HSBC. In her previous roles she has been with Deutsche Bank, Colombo as Vice President – Head of KYC Operations and with Citibank, Colombo as Vice President – Head of Treasury and Trade Solutions Operations.
Nilani is an Associate in Banking & Finance and has an MSc in Human Resource Management. She is an IFC certified trainer for Women on Boards and in Business Leadership, and holds a Director Certification (GSLID) from the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors. She is also a certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner.
She is a Board Member of the Women's Chamber of Industry and Commerce (WCIC) and a member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID).
Nilani has received many accolades in recognition of her leadership including; Outstanding Women Leadership Excellence Award / Sri Lanka Woman Leader Award / Top50 Professional and Career Women Award. She is also a Global Goodwill Ambassador.
Her passion is to create positive change by transforming lives through mentoring to achieve their full potential. She is a firm believer that "Success isn't about how much money you make, it's about the difference you make in people's lives".
