SOPHIA KUDJORDJI - SENIOR PUBLIC RELATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS EXPERT (PROFILE SUMMARY)

Sophia Kudjordji is a Senior Public Relations Expert and multi award-winning communications leader with a strong track record of building the function and teams at some of Ghana's leading organisations. She is the Chief Corporate Communication Officer at the Jospong Group of Companies-an indigenous Ghanaian Conglomerate with over 60 subsidiaries.

Sophia has over 25 years' experience in the media and communications industry across Public Relations and Journalism. She has worked with notable organisations including the Ghana News Agency, Volta Region Community Water and Sanitation Agency, British High Commission - Accra, UT Group, and currently the Jospong Group of Companies.

• Across her career journey, she has initiated several impactful communication projects and profiled her organisations and their key management members to win awards both within and outside Ghana. She has also received several awards including three times winner of the Global Woman of Worth Achiever Award by the World Women Leadership and Congress, India; Communication Personality in Sanitation and Health, Africa Women Awards, Addis Ababa, (2023); Brand Communication Personality of the Year (RAD Communications); Outstanding Corporate Communications Personality of the Year 2021 (Ghana Entrepreneur * Corporate Executive Awards 2022); Leadership Woman-Revelation in Public Relations and Corporate Communications (PanAfrican Corporates Awards); Public Relations Professional of the Year and One of West Africa's Top 20 Marketing and Communication Professionals by Marketing World Awards in 2019.
• In 2022 she was profiled by the Nigerian BizNews an online magazine as one of the Top five Corporate Communication Professionals in West Africa, she has been profiled by Humble Beginning and WeLeadComms all online platforms; Sophia has also been profiled by the B&FT, a Business newspaper in Ghana and recently profiled by CIO Views, an International Business Magazine as one of the top 10 Women in Public Relations and Communication Professionals.
• She is a member of the Climate Communication Chapter of the International Public Relations Association, UK, African Public Relations Association and the Institute of Public Relations Ghana; She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and appointed as Subject Matter Expert in Innovation and the Business Development Stream by the Chartered Institute of Supply Chain, Ghana.
• Sophia serves as an advisory board member of The Comms Avenue- a platform of Communication Practitioners across Africa, where she serves as mentor and panelist, she a member of the Cancer Foundation of the Ghana National Association of Teachers, Ghana; she serves as a judge for the International Public Relations Association's Golden World Awards.
• She has recently been appointed a member of the Pentecost Workers Guild, a National Committee of the Church of Pentecost.

Sophia holds a Masters of Arts' degree in Development Communication from the Ghana Institute of Journalism; an MBA in Leadership and Sustainability from the University of Cumbria, UK, and a Bachelor of Honours' degree in Sociology & Psychology from the University of Ghana, Legon; a Diploma in Journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism and a post Graduate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK as well as a Chartered Marketer status from the Chartered Institute of Ghana.
